People around me have it in their minds that as an art student, I go to museums a lot. However, they fail to notice that I’m tragically lazy, and that my inert state is being in front of the computer at home mooching around programs and the internet XDD
But my cousin said we should go to the museum, and so we did. There are 2 special exhibitions at the National Museum- One of them being Christian Lacroix the costumier, and photos are below in this post :D
This was what I wore:
Animal print dress ✿ Max & More
Yellow cardigan ✿ Bugis Village
Turquoise leggings (120 denier) ✿ online
Black ribbon flats ✿ Tangerine
Dark brown leather bag ✿ Bigi
Turquoise buddhist necklace ✿ gift (Nepal)
And now on to the juicy bits! Am very much in love with his drawings, rather than the actual costumes themselves. They are so dynamic and fluid, expressing his ideas right to the point.
But what I love best is still his ink sketches <33
There was a semi-enclosure in the exhibit, with videos of Lacroix’s inspirations playing on the white drapes. Tutu costumes on busts moved around from the ceiling, while mannequins with painted wooden faces stared blankly at you. Frankly, I was scared out of my wits.
That’s the end :D Flash and tripods are prohibited, so pictures were blurry because I was too cheapo to invest in good lenses or a Mark 5D. Hahaha!!
For those in Singapore, the exhibit runs till 7th June 2009 so this means a week to get down there!
